Blabbing
~ancient-twilight: Wow we've really been getting a nice response to our Nanoha sets recently. I dunno maybe it's cuz con season is coming up and people are looking for references. Thanks so much to everyone who faved and commented our on our costumes.

So... costume updates... I finished my lovely corset for the musketeer costume, only to find that I had done it all wrong TT___TT. So now I'm starting over and hopefully learning from my mistakes. I'm a bit bummed cuz it took about a months worth of work to finish it and now I have to start over. But on the bright side I know what to do now so maybe it will go faster the second time.

devskyeguardian:'s skirt is giving us head aches. She decided that she wanted it to be lined so she took it all apart and made lining and put it back together, but now our problem is that it sits to low so I'm adjusting the yoke for like the 6th time to make it sit right *so frustrating*. Squirrely is busy with school now too so I'm starting on bits of her shirt and she's gonna be doing a lot of the extra work over the holidays and possibly reading week.

I found some awesome boots for my musk. They are literally exactly what I needed in terms of shape, height, and heal size. I was annoyed because I couldn't find a good cheap pair of boots and I'm not going to spend $60 on a pair that I'm going to glue and cover and wear only 3ish days. I was lucky because I went on a romp through walmart's shoe section and they got these really blah fall boots in but they were exactly what I needed and they were only $40... a price I can live with for costume boots. We found some cute mary janes for Squirrely too so the shoes are all sorted out.

I'm really looking forward to starting on my musk coat... I really really really wanna start but I can't until I finish that damn corset of mine T___T... gah... well I'm gonna go fabric shopping in a few days so I'll probably start the corset again as soon as I get all my new materials.

Shining Wind costumes are still a pile of fabrics... not even going to touch them until we get the majority of our GE stuff done.

Oh! We also bought prop material! Yay for halloween and our kick ass dollar store =3 We stocked up on our favorite proping material too since they got a new stock in (fyi placemats) and got a really great deal on foam core so we have pretty much everything for the fighter pole arm and my guns... just missing a heart for the tip but that we'll find on Valentines day lol.

And finally... notice the new additions to the planned costumes... yup... we just can't pass up an awesome hyung tae kim design =3

As of late we have only been attending Anime North and on occasion wander our way over to Fan Expo (formely CNAnime). We usually only make one set of costumes a year because of our busy schedules and the complexity of the costumes and props. We take part in masquerades (started in 2007) and hope to one day take part in the skit contests at AN and grow our group to include others who are as dedicated to cosplay and costume construction quality as us.
